Dear Students and Families,                     
 
Welcome to 6th grade Social Studies. I'm looking forward to a happy and productive school year.
 
Curriculum areas we will focus on for the year include:
  • History
  • Geography & Culture
  • Government & Citizenship
  • Economics, Science, Technology, & Society
The agenda will more or less be: An Introduction to Contemporary World Cultures, United States, Latin America, North Africa & Southwest Asia, Africa South of the Sahara, Europe & Russia, Asia (East & Southeast), & Australia.
 
Students are asked to bring the following supplies:
3 pronged 2 pocket notebook that is non-stick
College ruled paper
Number 2 pencil
Blue or black pen
Colored pencils
Non-permanent colored markers
Eraser
Ruler
1 hand sanitizer, 1 container of disinfectant wipes, 1 box of Kleenex
 
District grading policy is:
A = 90-100
B = 80-89
C = 75-79
D = 70-74
 
Classroom Management Plan:
  • Come to class on time. Be prepared for class. Have all materials needed. Come to class ready and follow directions immediately. Complete and turn in all assignments on time.
  • Respect others. Keep negative comments, your hands and feet to yourself. Do not borrow or touch the property of others without their permission.
  • Respect school property. Take pride in your school.
  • Follow the school rules & the student code of conduct. This includes proper uniform.
Consequences:
  • Verbal Warning/Student/Teacher conference
  • Parent/Teacher conference
  • Counselor conference
  • Referral to Administration
